In factories, explosions have never been rare events.
Petrochemical workshops, new-energy storage pods, lithium battery plants, semiconductor special gas rooms... each hides underestimated explosion risks. Most people focus on whether an explosion occurs — but seldom ask: if an explosion really happens, can the people behind the wall hold out?
The peak overpressure of industrial blast shock waves can be as low as 100 kPa and exceed 1 MPa in severe cases. At the moment the blast wave hits, an ordinary brick wall will turn into high-speed flying fragments, becoming a source of secondary injury. More importantly — many existing factories simply do not have blast-resistant walls.
High retrofit costs, long construction periods, and large production losses make many companies postpone upgrades again and again.
This is not a theoretical figure. It is measured data. In December 2021, Nanjing University of Science and Technology conducted a vapor cloud explosion (VCE) test on TKC blast-resistant coating, using aviation kerosene to simulate real industrial explosion scenarios. The results are as follows:
Blast-facing side peak overpressure: 320.9 kPa Rear-side measured overpressure: 5.1 kPa Pressure attenuation rate: 98.4% Maximum temperature of explosion fireball: 1726.9 ℃ Coating layer — no fragmentation marks, no perforation, structural integrity intact. A single 3 mm layer of TKC blast-resistant coating sprayed on the rear side of a brick wall reduced an over 300 kPa blast shock wave to 5.1 kPa after passing through the wall. Personnel and equipment on the rear side received real protection.
TKC blast-resistant coating holds three test reports, all issued by the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Civil Explosive Products / Nanjing University of Science and Technology Chemical Materials Testing Center, with CNAS L1002 ILAC-MRA international mutual recognition accreditation:
1.0 MPa (1000 kPa) is 3.3 times the baseline certified pressure. Whether for retrofitting existing buildings in medium- to low-risk areas or for new explosion protection systems in petrochemical and new-energy ultra-high-risk sites, TKC blast-resistant coating has corresponding certified solutions to support them.
TKC blast-resistant coating uses a 100% solids aromatic polyurea formulation, A/B two-component 1:1 spray, with a gel time of only 3–5 seconds and surface drying time of only 10–20 seconds.
Construction process is simple: grinding → cleaning → filling/patching → primer → spraying, and the area can be returned to service within hours after completion.
No need to remove existing walls, no need to halt production for months, minimizing construction disruption. Applicable substrates include concrete, block/brick walls, and metal plates; it can be sprayed on curved, inclined, and vertical surfaces, is non-sagging, and leaves no dead corners. Meanwhile, the product is zero VOC, formaldehyde-free, and xylene-free, meets indoor air quality standards, and is friendly to construction personnel and the surrounding environment.
