With the country's strong promotion of the hydrogen energy industry, hydrogen refueling stations, as key infrastructure, are experiencing rapid development. Driven by both policy support and improved safety standards, the design of hydrogen refueling stations must strictly comply with relevant regulations, including the placement distance, thickness, and fire performance of barrier walls, to effectively prevent fire and explosion risks and ensure public safety.
Shanghai Tengxi Construction's independently developed lightweight fire- and blast-resistant panels have successfully passed 4-hour firewall fire-resistance and explosion tests. This technology is tailor-made for high-risk scenarios, combining lightweight design with outstanding performance, not only meeting regulatory requirements but also providing an innovative safety solution.
Compared with traditional reinforced concrete walls, Shanghai Tengxi's lightweight fire- and blast-resistant panels have the advantages of smaller footprint, lighter weight, and faster installation, making them especially suitable for hydrogen refueling stations with limited space or requiring rapid deployment. In addition, the technology can be flexibly applied to walls and ceilings for protection, meeting diverse design needs while effectively reducing overall construction costs, offering owners a higher cost-performance ratio.
DNV Shanghai Tengxi uses explosion simulation analysis technology and Dlubal structural analysis software to deeply quantify potential explosion scenarios at hydrogen refueling stations and perform structural blast load calculations. Through these precise tools, different explosion scenarios under varying gas concentrations and pressure conditions are simulated, shockwave intensity and impact range are calculated, and fire- and blast-resistant panels capable of withstanding pressures up to 1000 kPa are designed. In laboratory explosion tests, this technology demonstrated excellent pressure resistance, significantly enhancing accident protection capabilities and providing comprehensive safety assurance for hydrogen refueling stations and surrounding environments.
Shanghai Tengxi Construction's technology has been successfully applied in high-risk scenarios. From explosion simulation analysis to the design and construction of fire- and blast-resistant walls, the project successfully resisted an actual explosion impact, comprehensively protecting personnel and equipment safety, fully proving the reliability and practical value of Tengxi's technology.
Shanghai Tengxi Construction's innovative fire- and blast-resistant technology sets a new benchmark for the safe development of hydrogen refueling stations. Facing the requirements of energy transition and net-zero emissions, the role of hydrogen refueling stations is becoming increasingly important. Tengxi's technology not only complies with current regulations but is also prepared for higher future safety standards, providing strong support for the rapid development of the hydrogen industry and making an important contribution to the advancement of global hydrogen technology.
